Paul Miller - Chairman and Founder – Intranet Benchmarking Forum

Paul founded TEG after a successful career in business journalism, where he had been a national City Editor and author of "The Global Financial Village". He has consulted on organisational communication at senior management levels for many leading companies. He pioneered practical approaches to Knowledge Management and wrote the best selling KM handbook "Mobilising The Power Of What You Know" (Random House). He has won numerous awards for communication projects and has been a regular speaker at conferences on employee engagement , KM and the “world of intranet life”.

Paul is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC), a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a past member of its UK board and Chairman and Founder of the Intranet Benchmarking Forum (IBF).

Angela Pohl
Client Service Director (North America)

Angela manages the IBF Global accounts and is the main point of contact for IBF Global members.

Angela has a Masters in Business Administration from London Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She has worked in various international marketing and consulting roles for global companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis, Eli Lilly, and Avery Dennison.

Nancy Goebel
Director of Business Development (North America)

As Director of Business Development, Nancy's is responsible for expanding the IBF's presence in North America.

Previously a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Chase, Nancy has 18+ years of corporate office experience. Most recently as the IT portfolio manager in corporate technology, Nancy successfully implemented an award-winning intranet (as recognized in the 2007 Nielsen Norman Group Design Annual), chaired a range of special interest groups to engage the global community of intranet managers and launched numerous intranet sites and applications to enhance workforce productivity.

William Hudson
Director of User Experience

William Hudson is responsible for oversight of usability and user-experience services. He manages expert reviews and user-testing for both IBF Members and TEG clients. He is a user centered designer and software developer with 30 years of commercial experience.

He is also a contributor to Addison-Wesley's Object Modeling and User Interface Design and has established an email group on user centered UML. He is active within the usability community in the UK and internationally and speaks at various industry conferences.

Louise Ferguson
Usability Testing Leader (UK)

Louise manages user-testing evaluations for IBF and TEG clients. She is a specialist in usability and user experience and covers user research, usability testing, usability evaluation and training in human-centered approaches to design and strategic systems

She is Vice President, UK Usability Professionals' Association and an expert contributor to the Design Council “Touching the State” project. She is also a Churchill Fellow, investigating the voter experience and the usability and accessibility of voting technologies.

Helen Day
Director of Special Interest Group & Communication/ Culture Lead

Helen’s role manages the benchmarking of intranet strategy and governance. She is information professional who worked at Boots for 14 years, moving through marketing research to head the Business Information team. Helen set up the first Boots The Chemist Head Office intranet. She was Group-wide Intranet Manager implementing a new content management solution and redesigning the corporate intranet from a user perspective.

She implemented a new portal to Boots' 1400 stores, delivering integrated information and systems through user-centric design. She was involved with implementing SAP within the Trading area of Boots The Chemists. Helen recently won the International Information Industry award for Best Intranet Project 2004, and was runner up European Information Professional of the year 2005.

John Baptista
Intranet Strategy & Governance Lead

John manages the benchmarking of intranet strategy and governance for IBF Global members. He is also spearheading a collaboration between the IBF and London School of Economics to establish an intranet certification for intranet management including setting up governance for this body.

John has a background in IT Management having spent the last four years at the London School Economics as a Researcher specialising in intranet application. John’s previous roles include Director of New Technologies for the Conservative party during the general election of 2000.

Sam Marshall
Director of Research

Sam Marshall is responsible for managing the IBF portfolio of best practice intranet and portal deployment research.

Sam spent 8 years at Unilever, where until recently he was responsible for the company’s Global Portal Implementation. This involved overseeing the roll-out of over 700 online communities to 85,000 people and consolidating several thousand intranets into a single system.

Sam is a regular speaker at international conferences. He has an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and an MA in Psychology.

Lucy Shaw
Online Services Manager

Lucy manages content and provides technical support for the portfolio of IBF website's including the IBF 100 secure member's extranet. Specialising in developing bespoke content, Lucy researches user requirement, sourcing global materials from technology vendors, IT press and subject experts.

Lucy has over 7 years of intranet, extranet and website management including a four years stint managing the award winning London Underground Intranet and most recently Web Manager for the UK Rent Service.
